MADAME ZO
L'ART AU QUOTIDIEN [EVERYDAY ART]

ANTANANARIVO
MAY 22 - JUNE 7, 2019

L’Art au Quotidien brings together ten large pieces of works, improbable combinations of materials on artist Madame Zo’s terms: All of us are used to working in a bubble, in compartmentalized jobs, where new encounters become sparse. Through the panels I want to show that our tools, products and raw materials can go together: this gave birth to the Mon métier piece. It combines magnetictapes from the audiovisual world and hacksaws that are more prevalent in working-class professions.

Madame Zo takes us on a journey to the heart of her daily life, impervious to routine: her weavings lead us to (re)discover materials, fragments of objects and things, as well as waste.

In Madame Zo's universe, everything is weaving material: fabric scraps, magnetic tapes, wood shavings, wire, even the most unexpected objects such as bicycle handlebars and brakes, or even bunches of medicinal plants.

Her works draw their power and meanings from such unusual combinations and blending that are both daring and startling.
