From the outset, the foundation has developed an engaged contemporary art collection that pays close attention to both emerging and established artistic practices across the Malagasy, African and diasporic scenes. Bringing together works that explore forms, narratives and social, political and environmental dynamics within their contexts, the Fondation H Collection serves as a resource of knowledge, skills and aesthetics that lie at the heart of the institution’s mission: supporting artistic creation and ecosystems, fostering a plurality of perspectives and encouraging cultural circulation.
The foundation regularly lends artworks to museums and exhibition spaces internationally. Guest curators invited to develop projects within its spaces may also, should they wish, draw from the Fondation H Collection for their exhibitions. These loans and activations of the works testify to the recognition of the artists supported by the foundation and to its commitment to contributing to greater visibility for their practices. In 2025, for instance, several works by Madame Zo are presented within major institutions such as Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, the Bienal de São Paulo, and the Museo de la Ciudad de Mexico. This list is neither exhaustive nor definitive; it merely illustrates a glimpse of the diversity of collaborations developed over the years.
Although privately held, the Fondation H Collection remains open to research, professional dialogue and collaboration. Curators, researchers, and cultural or museum institutions are invited to contact the team to explore possibilities for study, writing, loans or exhibitions.
