ARTIST'S STUDIO

As part of its mission to support the Malagasy art scene, Fondation H offers visual artists a free 54 m² studio, the Atelier, available several times a year for two-month periods.

This space can accommodate two artists working on research, creation and production projects.

Access is by call for applications from visual artists residing in Madagascar.

In a secure and creatively stimulating environment, this space is equipped with functional furniture and Wi-Fi connection, and provides access to the resources of Fondation H library. The Atelier is designed to offer artists a space for work and research, with the possibility of organizing an open studio without culminating in an exhibition. The artist is free and autonomous throughout the program. Fondation H can provide logistical support to ensure that the program runs smoothly.

From 2 September to 25 October, 2024, the Atelier is occupied by visual artists Olivia Bourgois and Sata Harinivo Malalatiana Razafinandriana, also known as Tiana Razaf.

For the session from 7 January to 20 February, 2025, the selected artists, Marcel Josoa Andrisoa Rakotonandrasana (Andri Marcel), Liantsoa Itokiana Rakotoarivony and Tsiriniaina Hajatiana Irimboangy have the opportunity to work in this space, equipped with functional furniture, Wi-Fi, and access to Fondation H library's resources.

From 21 June  to 5 July, the Artist's studio is occupied by Tana Design Week, featuring Nathalie Bruyère accompanied by the Collectif Ultra-Ordinaire, Andrée Mathilde Ethève (Textile Designer and Master Weaver), Imke Plinta (urban graphic designer), and Guylaine Ramanantsoa. On 28 June, the official opening day of Tana Design Week, the team of designer-researchers will present an outcome of their work during a samedi de la Fondation H program [year round program every Saturday], from 14:00 to 16:00.

     - One worktable

     - Fondation H Library resources
     - On request to Fondation H staff: use of library computers
· Working tools and materials are the artist's responsibility.
· Studio opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 18:00
