For the tenth anniversary of Prix Paritana, Fondation H is presenting a group exhibition featuring 25 winners and runners-up, curated by N’Goné Fall. Tracing a decade of contemporary art, it showcases the vitality, diversity and growing ambition of a Malagasy art scene engaged in active dialogue with the international scene.
Initiated by Hassanein Hiridjee, Fondation H’s president, and Eric Dereumaux, founder and director of Galerie RX (Paris, New York), and supported by Air France, Cité internationale des arts in Paris and Institut Français de Madagascar, Prix Paritana is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an undiminished ambition: to establish Madagascar as a recognised hub for contemporary creation.
A catalogue of the exhibition will be published for the occasion.
Curator’s biography
N’Goné Fall was born in Dakar in 1967. A graduate of the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, she is a curator, essayist and cultural engineering consultant. She ran Revue noire, the first magazine on contemporary African art, from 1996 to 2001, and co-edited several key anthologies on 20th-century African photography and art. She has curated exhibitions in Africa, Europe and the United States, and taught at Senghor University in Alexandria from 2007 to 2011. In 2018, she was appointed chief curator of the Africa2020 Season, bringing together more than 1,500 cultural projects across France.
